Grace B. Hepler

Grace Ballenger Hepler, 79, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Hepler was a member of First Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter 7. She was the widow of Calvert A. Ballenger Sr. and Charles Lee Hepler.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Fugitt and her husband, George E., of Fredericksburg; three sons, Calvert A. Ballenger Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Woodlawn, Tenn., Leonard A. Ballenger, and Timothy A. Ballenger and his wife, Theresa, all of Cheverly, Md.; eight grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at First Christian Church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1501 Washington Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; to the American Heart Association, Memorials Processing Center, Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058; or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Suite 107, Richmond, Va. 23294.
