Send Mark Warner to the U.S. Senate

Please vote for Mark Warner for our senator to fill John Warner's seat. Mark Warner is the best person for the job, not Jim Gilmore.

When Mr. Gilmore's time was up as governor, he left the state in debt.

As governor, Mark Warner was able to get Republicans and Democrats to work together to get our state back where it was supposed to be. It took two years, but with the help of both parties, Mark Warner got the job done.

At the end of Warner's four years as governor, he was awarded the honor of Virginia being the best-governed state in the U.S.

Gilmore is in favor of off-shore Virginia oil drilling for domestic oil. Warner is not in favor of this. He agrees with John McCain, John Warner, and Jim Webb in exploration for natural gas 50 miles off the Virginia coast.

Mark Warner believes Jim Gilmore's "drill here, drill now, pay less" slogan is shortsighted.

Gilmore believes that if we start drilling, prices will immediately drop as the oil companies would hope to have oil coming in.

Gilmore says the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 should stay. Warner supports rolling back the Bush tax cuts for only the top income bracket.

Vote for Mark Warner. He will do the best job.

Anna T. Gaborow

King George

Who lied to voters about not raising taxes but did? (posted by WeimCity , Oct. 8, 2008 8:44 pm)
EX Governor Warner! How can a sensible person believe anything he now says? Will the past broken campaign promises be repeated?

I wonder... (posted by kenderr , Oct. 8, 2008 4:43 pm)
How many will vote for Mark Warner thinking they're re-electing John Warner?

Don't be fooled ......... (posted by Ranko , Oct. 8, 2008 10:21 am)
both will spend your tax money that's what they do but at least Warner will put much more thought in it for you and I think do a better job, no matter what the party.

Consider This (posted by scrnatic , Oct. 8, 2008 9:27 am)
Warner would have voted for the financial "bailout," Gilmore against! We don't need a Senator who favors throwing billions of our tax dollars at every economic "hardship." Gov't intervention/pandering was the cause of this crisis in the first place. Bailouts are a bad idea, long term, and Gilmore is smart enough to recognize this. Gilmore is a true conservative - lower taxes + lower spending. This is the correct, responsible approach to getting our economy (and gov't) on the right track. Vote Gilmore.

With democrats taxes keep going up... (posted by Dharma41 , Oct. 8, 2008 8:21 am)
and no matter how much money they take out of our pockets it's never enough. Warner taxed us to death....why would you want more of the same? It's a bad year for the middle class and the future is not looking very good for us, financially. Both Senators running for President want to raise taxes, Warner will definitely support tax increases, we really don't stand a chance.
