Donald V. Saunders

Donald V. Saunders, 70, of Stafford County died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Saunders retired as an engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration after 37 years of service. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and was a member of Regester Chapel United Methodist Church. He had served as past president of Master Gardeners of the Central Rappahannock region.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Saunders; his daughter, Donna Saunders of Stafford; his stepsons, Frank LeDoux and his wife, Jacqueline, of Stafford and Robert LeDoux and his wife, Lorraine, of Mason City, Iowa; his brother, Richard Saunders and his wife, Maureen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his 10 grandchildren, Joseph, Robert, Christine, Ashley, Robin, Nicole, Patrick, Megan, Monica and Jesse. He also leaves his dear pet, Snoops.

A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Regester Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. M.J. Kim and the Rev. Theodore Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
