Thanks to all who gave books to Horse School
In 2002, Gloria Kitsopoulos, principal of American Horse School in Allen, S.D., opened up four classrooms to start a library.
She wrote a grant for books and responded to my inquiry that she would welcome books collected from a book drive.
American Horse School has since received well over 10,000 books, thanks to donations from the Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts in Fauquier County, Taylor Middle School Honor Society, U.S. News and World Report, Judy Jamison from the Montross Library, community members, as well as parents and students from Mary Walter Elementary School.
Thank you to all who donated the books, and special thanks to Cheryle Hudgins, a sales representative at FedEx, for her generous contribution to ship the books to American Horse School.
The principal of American Horse Schools writes, "One of our challenges has always been access to the outside world by way of reading materials and books. Your generosity speaks of your kind hearts and reminds us of our value of generosity within our own culture."
Thank you again to all who were instrumental in the book drive for the library at American Horse School.
