John Douglas on TV with 'Mindhunter'

Pioneer of modern criminal profiling interviews two serial killers in new show on MSNBC

TV VIEWERS who want to know more about criminal profiling can watch the architect of the technique in action on a show airing on MSNBC the next two Saturdays.

The special is called "Mindhunter" and it features John Douglas, who pioneered criminal interviewing and profiling with the FBI's Behavioral Science unit. He interviews two of the nation's most disturbing and violent serial killers: Joseph Kondro and Donald Harvey. Kondro is a murderer who killed his friends' children. Harvey began his murderous lifestyle at age 18 as a hospital orderly.

Douglas, who has ties to the Fredericksburg area, has interviewed and studied dozens of serial killers and assassins--including Charles Manson, Sirhan Sirhan, John Wayne Gacy and David Berkowitz (Son of Sam).

The hourlong show airs on MSNBC. Catch it tomorrow at 7 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 8 and 11 p.m.
