Suspected thieves leave empty-handed--even without items they paid for Date published: 12/24/2008
BY KEITH EPPS A shoplifting suspect decided not to wait around for a shirt he'd actually paid for, police said. According to Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe, two men purchased shirts at Burlington Coat Factory about 3:15 p.m. Monday. The men left the store, but returned a short time later with the bag containing the shirts. Bledsoe said one man then went to an area of the store where he had apparently stashed some other merchandise. As the two men started to leave again, this time with a much fuller bag, they were confronted by a store employee who had seen what was going on. When the employee asked to see the inside of the bag, the suspects dropped the bag and left. A short time later, one of the two returned to the store for a third time. This time, he inquired if he could have the shirts that had been paid for. Bledsoe said he was told he could have the shirts, but would have to wait for a police officer before he could get them. The man apparently decided that was not a good idea, and both suspects had left the area by the time an officer arrived. Bledsoe said the investigation is continuing, and the suspects are on the store video. Keith Epps: 540/374-5404
The thieves had time to clean out the entire store. Also, the Goodwill is nearby, with cheap, used men's shirts.
to catch the thieves on wall street...
I mean, if you're going to steal, why do it at that crappy place? Belk has much nicer things guys......unless you were getting that black dickie for Uncle Festus. Than I can see going to Burlington!
