Date published: 1/25/2009 Valentina Martinez Valentina Martinez, 79, of Fredericksburg went peacefully with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at her home. Her daughters were at her bedside. Valentina was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Penonome, province of Cocle, in the Republic of Panama. She lived in Puerto Rico for many years and enjoyed gardening and serving the Lord. She came to Fredericksburg in 2003 with her beloved Bassett hound, Georgie. Her proudest achievements were becoming an American citizen and seeing all her children receive the level of education she had dreamed about. She was a wonderful loving mother who is survived by Eliezer Reyes and his wife, Rosa, and their two children and one grandchild; Jose A. Reyes and his wife, Mildred, and their three children; Judy and her husband, Michael Maggio; Yolanda Reyes; James Reyes, and his wife, Nancy, and their three children; and Louis C. King. A private viewing will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, with a graveside service at 10 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
