Samuel Wolf attains Eagle Date published: 2/22/2009
Samuel Leland Wolf of Stafford County earned the Boy Scouts of America's rank of Eagle recently. Wolf is a member of Troop 940, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, White Oak Ward, in southern Stafford County. Samuel began Scouting with the Cub Scouts in 1998, and attained the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting's highest award, before becoming a Boy Scout in 2001. He worked his way up through the ranks during the next seven years, diligently pursuing his goal, even though he and his family moved across the country twice. He held numerous leadership positions in his troops, including scribe, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, varsity team captain and, most recently, Venture Crew president. In 2006, he became a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's national honor society. In addition to BSA Troop 940 activities, he is an active member of Venture Crew 940 in Stafford. He most recently helped during the Ten Commandments Hike in downtown Fredericksburg. Samuel's Eagle project supported local emergency services, allowing them to locate houses more easily in low light and during adverse weather conditions. Samuel has participated in numerous church activities and projects in the area. He is a senior at Stafford Senior High School and is on the winter track team. He is president of the school's SADD chapter, an active member of the Key Club and a student mentor. Recently he was ADDA-certified as a mechanical draftsman, and plans to purse a degree in architecture at college, as well as serving a mission for his church. He is the eldest of three children of Norman and Daylene Wolf.
Way to go! Best wishes from the Scouts and Leaders of Troop 515.
