This firearms act is a dangerous one

Readers should look up "Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009" (H.R. 45) and see how our freedoms are slowly eroding.

I asked someone I know in Australia how they let the government confiscate their firearms. His answer was, "We didn't think they would do it."

I have had some success in e-mailing my friends and asking them to write their congressional representatives to defeat this bill or lose our votes.

Remember, Americans, apathy is the father of slavery. It is not a Republican or Democratic issue.

Freedrik = Sheep (posted by John_M_Dolan , Mar. 8, 2009 8:28 pm)
With all due respect, your a mindless sheep. And I have no problem with anyone being a sheep. I just do not want and dare anyone to take away my right to protect myself. Gun restrictions only hinder law abiding citizens. Look at D.C.

Unicorn sightings, indeed (posted by AtackDuck , Mar. 7, 2009 8:59 pm)
Kleck-Gertz research, 1994, showed ~2.5 million defensive gun uses per year. That is pretty damn commonplace. Let's face it, "Woman displays gun to would be robber, robber runs away." is not nearly as sensational as "man shoots hand and son".

“The beauty of the second amendment is that (posted by Lobo , Mar. 6, 2009 1:16 pm)
it will not be needed until they try to take it.” ..."A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither”... “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government”... Three statements each as true today as when spoken some 200 years ago. But - the weenies amongst us would rather hope that someone else will carry their load - should the need ever arise.

Know guns, Know peace, Know safety......no guns, no peace, no safety.
