Rappahannock girl stable after being mauled by dog Date published: 4/16/2009
BY DONNIE JOHNSTON
An 11-year-old Rappahannock County girl was in stable condition at the University of Virginia Trauma Center yesterday after being attacked by a pit bull. Rappahannock County sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Scrabble Road about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday following a report of a dog attack in progress, according to Sheriff's Maj. Scott Jenkins. The child was visiting a friend when the 1-year-old pit bull, which was the friend's family pet, attacked her, Jenkins said. The friend's grandmother, who lives next door, tried to stop the attack--which occurred inside the home--by repeatedly striking the dog with various objects. The child suffered severe bite wounds to the face, neck, arms and legs, Jenkins said. She was taken to Culpeper Regional Hospital emergency room before being transferred to Charlottesville. The dog was euthanized, Jenkins said. Donnie Johnston:
Every pit bull owner will tell you how wonderful their dog is will claim total disbelief when that dog maims or kills their child. There was an attack on a man yesterday by a pit that left scars all over his right arm from an attack by the same dog 3 mo. earlier. This time, his left arm is mangled. After attacking him, the 2 dogs turned on each other. Most of the commenters said the man must have provoked the dog. the owner of the dog said he recently moved there and he thinks the dog didn't like the house
Anti, of all these attacks, I wonder how many of the owners defended the breed before THEIR dog attacked someone? And whether they still defend the breed after? I also find it 'interesting' that they would blame the CHILD who was attacked, instead of the ANIMAL.
OMG!!! What is wrong with people who defend pit bulls? If a human did this to a woman and three children, they would be in jail for some time. I'm getting so used to reading about new pit bull attacks, I look at the city where it happend and want to "your turn"

This is one example pit bull nutters love to mention. they also love to mention that the pit bull used to be called the "nanny dog" because they were so loving to babies and would be left to guard the baby. That saying was coined in Great Brittan. Ironically, Great Brittain now BANS pit bulls from the entire country. hmm... I wonder if they ate a few of their charges and were all fired?
