Noah J. Dinges, 69, of Ladysmith passed away Friday, May 1, 2009. He was born in Shenandoah County on June 25, 1939.
Noah was an auto and truck mechanic in the Shenandoah Valley and Metropolitan, D.C. areas. He was well-known for his love of animals, especially German shepherds. He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; his children, Rick Dinges of Arlington, Donna DeTorie of Vienna, Virginia Butler of New Kent and Susan Cannon of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Sidney Dinges of Edinburg; a sister, Virginia Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; and three grandsons, Michael DeTorie, Trey Reese and Joshua Cannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Dinges; and a brother, Victor Dinges.
A celebration of his life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Chilesburg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 18580 Partlow Road, Beaverdam, Va. 23015.
