A Spotsylvania man is arrested after some unusually heavy petting with the family dog.

Authorities responded to Robert John Ward's Catharpin Road address after a concerned family member called saying the dog was acting strange and that Ward had admitted to "fooling around" with her. The 66 year old then admitted to deputies that he had been sexually touching her. When the dog was taken to the vet and tested, they confirmed that it had been the victim of intercourse.

Ward is charged with beastiality and is in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
