Two more Spotsylvania County teens were sent to jail today for their role in the video recorded beating of two teens in January.
Matthew W. Shepherd, a 2008 graduate of Courtland High School, received a 3-year sentence with all but six months to serve for felony unlawful wounding.
Jonathan R. Longtin, a 2009 Courtland graduate, received a 12-month sentence with all but two months suspended for misdemeanor assault and battery.
The two were among nine Spotsylvania County teens who were each originally charged with two counts of malicious wounding by mob, a charge carrying up to 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
The teen victims were attacked on a Sunday afternoon in January after they showed up at a field in the Stoneybrooke subdivision to play pickup football.
Both victims were hospitalized as a result of the attack. One suffered a broken jaw; the other suffered a head injury doctors initially thought was a brain injury.

Dear LGMOM the reason the for the hand slapping is quite simple the two boy's that were injured were not related to the Judge or County Proscicutor also their families must not have lots of money.
Gary Shorts where I came from 9 or 10 against 2 isn't much of a fight, maybe and just maybe you have your shorts pulled up over your eyes and can't see but if you were the father of a teen with a lifetime of problems caused by a mob,you wouldn't care how crowded the system was. Discipline,10 yrs hard labor
from the posting, it's easy to see how

fast "mob mentality" can take over a group of immature individuals. although I had been under the impression that most of those who post here were adults. My bad.

Did the FLS ever state why they posted this? Are you going to start posting videos of all crimes you can now, FLS? Sorry, I just don't get it. I work with kids everyday, and some of them feel this type of behavior is okay, and some are already involved in this type of behavior. If I'm missing something, please fill me in.
So what....

if you put every teen who got into a fight in prison the penal system would be overcrowded. What we need are more punks like this exercising their second amendment rights. If these victims were able to defend themselves with arms I bet they aren't left lying on the ground with a headache.
