Curtis L. Burch
Curtis Lee Burch Sr., 80, of Stafford County answered God's called to join Him in eternal life on Friday, June 12, 2009. He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Pageland, S.C., to the late Tennessee and Rosa Horne Burch.
Curtis joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for 21 years. Tours of duty included France and Germany. He retired from the military service in 1973 at Fort Belvoir, and relocated to Stafford in 1977.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving, devoted wife of 43 years, Ruth; two daughters, Jessica Burch-Warren and her husband, Shawn I, of Philadelphia, and Susan Burch of Vienna; one son, Curtis Burch Jr. of Dia-mond Bar, Calif.; one daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Burch of Fontana, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jaya, Shawn II, Landon, Desiree, Robin and Lisa; four great-grandchildren, Ernie, Bert, Breize and Ulrie; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Little Forest Baptist Church, Stafford. As requested, his final resting place will be in Ocilla, Ga., on Sunday, June 21, 2009.
