This is in response to the May 28 editorial titled "Staying sharp," which touted a study that showed the card game bridge and other such mental activity "puts a person at reduced risk for dementia."
I couldn't agree more. I want to let readers know there are two duplicate bridge clubs in our area that provide the stimulating activity that was suggested.
Not only are our games challenging and stimulating, they are fun and provide a great place to meet new friends. Those friends will come in very handy as you continue to live into your 90s "dementia-free."
For more information, contact the Fredericksburg Duplicate Bridge Club or the Rappahannock Area Bridge Club.
