A 19-year-old man was killed and two other teens were injured in a collision between a dirt bike and a four-wheeler yesterday afternoon in Spotsylvania County.
Spotsylvania sheriff's 1st Sgt. Joe Curtis said the accident happened about 5:30 p.m. on Towles Mill Road.
The man who was killed was a passenger on the dirt bike. He was not identified last night, pending notification of relatives.
The details of exactly what happened are still being investigated, Curtis said.
Neither the victim nor either of the other two men involved, also believed to be 19, was wearing a helmet, Curtis said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two men were taken by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital.
Curtis said one man suffered life-threatening injuries; he was unsure how badly the other man was injured.
