Congestion backs up interstate traffic
Fourth of July weekend traffic caused major delays for drivers last night.
The Virginia Department of Transportation's Web site reported a 15.5-mile backup on Interstate 95 southbound in Stafford County and a 13-mile backup northbound in Spotsylvania County.
The delays were caused by congestion as well as an accident at Exit 130 in Fredericksburg, which closed the right shoulder and entrance ramp.
The accident was a single-vehicle crash, and no one was injured.
