I welcome the SPCA to my neighborhood
I've read a lot about neighbors who oppose the Stafford SPCA at the proposed site off Andrew Chapel Road, but not too much about neighbors who support it.
I am a neighbor, and I wholeheartedly support this application before the Board of Supervisors.
I have lived on Andrew Chapel Road for many years. My home and property are just across this road from the entrance to the Meadowbrooke subdivision.
It seems like only yesterday that we watched that whole community spring up out of what used to be hundreds of acres of forest.
Now the view from my front yard is quite different, but as Stafford grows and changes, so does the scenery.
I can certainly understand a little anxiety over something as unique as an SPCA, but I think the concerns voiced by some neighbors have been adequately addressed, and I welcome the addition to our neighborhood.
I can't see the old Brooke Nursing Home from my front yard because it is buffered on all sides by trees.
After attending an informational meeting recently at Supervisor Milde's invitation at the proposed site, I am certain that this location is a very good one for a much needed no-kill shelter.
Stafford is fortunate to have a benefactor in William Hoyt and a champion of this good cause in Paul Milde.
