VDOT warns of transportation impediments

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY

Interstate 95

Sunday-Monday, 9 p.m.-4:30 a.m.; crews will be milling and paving the on- and off-ramps at the U.S. 1/Spotsylvania (Exit 126) interchange. Motorists should expect delays and be alert to construction crews and equipment on the interstate ramps.

Tuesday-Thursday, 9 p.m.-4:30 a.m.; crews will begin milling and paving the southbound lanes on I-95 between Exit 126 (U.S. 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (State Route 606/Thornburg.) One lane and the shoulder will be closed to traffic in the work zone.

Monday-Thursday, 10 p.m.-4:30 a.m.; motorists will be periodically restricted to one lane on I-95 northbound and southbound between mile markers 122 and 126, located between Exit 126 (U. S. 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (State Route 606/Thornburg.) This is permit work associated with the new bridge over I-95 at U.S. 17.

Thursday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; motorists should be alert to crews and equipment on the shoulder of I-95 southbound at mile marker 123, located between Exit 126 (U.S. 1/Spotsylvania and Exit 118 (Thornburg.) Crews will be inspecting the new State Route 608 bridge over I-95. All travel lanes will remain open.

State Route 608 bridge over I-95

The new State Route 608 bridge over I-95 will be open to traffic on Monday. Motorists should be alert to the new traffic pattern.

Monday-Wednesday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; motorists should expect brief delays on State Route 608 as crews remove the temporary signals and add pavement markings at the new bridge over I-95. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

Thursday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane in each direction on State Route 608 at the new bridge over I-95. Crews will be inspecting the structure.

State Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue ongoing construction project)

Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; crews will begin hanging the new traffic signals on Bragg Road at Willis Way and at River Road. Motorists should be prepared to stop periodically in the work zone.

Monday-Friday, motorists are reminded to be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue as work continues on the Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue widening project. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.
