Raymond Gordon "Mike" Bradley Jr., 38, of Spotsylvania County passed on to glory to be with his Lord on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
Mike was born Feb. 10, 1971, in Fredericksburg, to Raymond and Twila Bradley. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed. Mike attended Courtland High School. He considered his greatest achievements to be his son, Michael, and his international mission trips. Mike will be remembered for his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mike's faith was supported by the liturgy and pastoral ministries of Freedom Church of the Assemblies of God, Canaan's Faith Church of God and Riverside First Church of God. Mike enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and football. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Linwood and Flossie Bradley; and his maternal grandfathers, the Rev. E.T. "Tick" Bourne and Sydney Dobson.
Mike is survived by his son, Michael Raymond Bradley; his parents, Raymond and Twila Bradley; and his four sisters, Donna Betts and her husband, Patrick, Judy Woolcock and her husband, Andre, Peggy Hodson and her husband, Rick, and Susan Markle and her husband, Terry. He is also survived by his grandmothers, June Dobson and Brenda Bourne, as well as 11 nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moss Free Clinic, 1301 Sam Perry Boulevard, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
