Julia A. Pope, 53, of Richmond died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at VCU MCV Hospital in Richmond.
Born in South Hampton, she is survived by her two daughters, Kesha Judge and her husband, Jerry, of Fredericksburg and Shantel Pope of Richmond; and five grandchildren. She also is survived by five brothers and three sisters: Ellouise Griffin of Baltimore, Md., William Thomas Pope Jr. of Capron, James Linwood Pope of Portsmouth, Tommie Lee Pope of Chesapeake, Jimmie Pope of Portsmouth, Leola Evans of Courtland, Mary Ann Smith of Pittsfield, Mass., and Kevin Michael Pope of Baltimore, Md. She was preceded in death by sister Mattie Benson and brother Nathaniel Pope.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Bailey Funeral Home, with Bishop Malcolm O. Ames officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Woodford. Viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
