Stuart C. Strong

Stuart C. Strong, 48, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Strong worked as a mortgage loan officer for 22 years. He has been employed with National City Mortgage for the last 13 years, and he loved to work with his clients and realtors. He thought it was an honor and privilege to serve the needs of his clients and Realtors.

Stuart was born in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 3, 1961, to James and Lynne Kitchen Strong.

A veteran of the United States Navy until 1987, he proudly served aboard the USS Bradley in San Diego, Calif., in interior communications.

He moved to Virginia in 1987, and relocated to the Fredericksburg area in 1991.

His hobbies included scuba diving and cruising, and he had a passion for researching the history of World War II. His favorite place to have ever been was Alaska.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Strong; a daughter, Shelly Strong-Rivera; his mother; Lynne Kitchen; and a lovely granddaughter, Elaina Megan Rivera.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg Chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Va.

Interment will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The National World War II Memorial, c/o WWII Processing Center, Box 305, Calverton, N.Y. 11933 in memory of Mr. Stuart C. Strong
