Local governments announce this week's public meetings
Date published: 9/20/2009 FREDERICKSBURG The City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St. Council members will hold a work session at 6 p.m. to discuss the rental housing inspections program. SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY The Board of Supervisors meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Holbert Building on Courthouse Road. Supervisors plan to hear a report from the county attorney and county administrator on plans to change the noise ordinance that affects dog owners.
STAFFORD COUNTY The School Board meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Bandy Complex for a work session on the division's capital plan. The work session will be followed by a regular meeting a 7 p.m. The School Board is scheduled to approve its six-year capital plan. CAROLINE COUNTY The Caroline County public school system will host a community forum on violence at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Caroline High School. The event begins with a free dinner and a discussion with students about choices. The Board of Supervisors meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Services Center in Milford.
KING GEORGE COUNTY The School Board meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the school system's central office, 9100 St. Anthony's Road. ORANGE COUNTY
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Gordon Building, 112 West Main St., Orange. The board is expected to act on vehicle decals and the Virginia Rural Broadband Planning Initiative. GORDONSVILLE
The Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the Town Hall council chambers. The council will discuss the proposed historic overlay district ordinance and the request for water service. WESTMORELANDThe Wetlands Board meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the A.T. Johnson Alumni Museum at 18849 Kings Highway, Montross. The School Board meets in closed session at 5 p.m. Monday and in open session at 6 p.m. at the Roane Center for Excellence at 141 Opal Lane, Montross. COLONIAL BEACHThe Tourism Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Tourist Information Center near the Town Pier. Town Council committees meet at Town Center Thursday: Public Works at 3 p.m., Budget and Finance at 4 p.m., Economic Development at 5 p.m. and Public Safety at 6 p.m.
