Leeland Station board represents residents, not developers
I'm writing in response to Bruce Iosco's Sept. 10 letter. Mr. Iosco stated that Susan Stimpson was the chairman of the Leeland Station HOA Advisory Board, and that the board was doing "admirable work."
He, however, refrained from joining the board when asked because the neighborhood was being developed by Maryland Development, and he wanted to be independent of their interests.
The Advisory Board, on which I served with Ms. Stimpson, was created to represent the interests of the residents. It exists to make our community stronger and better.
To imply that we were serving the interest of the developer is as silly as saying Mr. Iosco directly lined the developer's pocket by buying a home in Leeland Station!
Yes, Susan Stimpson did do admirable work, and our community is stronger and better because she was willing to become involved and be a part of the solution, not just a routine complainer.
Let's stop criticizing those who are willing to step forward and make a difference.
