Carol Ann Lloyd, 71, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at her home.
She graduated from Notre Dame College in Staten Island, N.Y., and received her masters in library science from Rutgers University. She worked at the New York Public Library.
Mrs. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Staten Island, where her husband worked as an assistant district attorney.
After leaving Staten Island in 2004, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd settled in the Falls Run community in Stafford County. Mrs. Lloyd was a member at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Women's Club, Cursillo Prayer Group and the Falls Run Thursday card group.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas F. Lloyd; four children, Katherine R. Adams, Robert Brix Iver Lloyd, Thomas Michael Lloyd and Kevin Joseph Lloyd; two brothers, Paul and G. David Gill; one sister, Kathleen Rupp; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with a rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Arlington National Cemetery.
