Growth in Aquia will not win votes for Milde

Who does Paul Milde represent? Not me.

I was disturbed by two signs at Aquia Harbour's entrance: "Veterans for Milde, Aquia Supervisor."

I am a 24-year Navy veteran. Mr. Milde's Web site shows nothing that would encourage veterans to vote for him. Quite the contrary.

The first initiative on his Web site is the redevelopment of Aquia Town Center. Is anyone in Aquia Harbour happy with this redevelopment? Does anyone want 287 more apartments there?

Mr. Milde does. He made the motion leading to Ramco's rezoning request approval, over the objection of several concerned residents.

Mr. Milde's business specializes in multifamily construction. Isn't this a conflict of interest?

Mr. Milde does not care about our needs in Aquia Harbour, nor is he concerned with the increase in traffic that 287 apartments will bring to Washington Drive.

I doubt many Aquia Harbour veterans will vote for Mr. Milde after they realize he is just looking out for himself.

Veterans should vote for someone with a proven record of integrity, someone who will represent our interests: Paul Ortiz.

Isn't that always the case? (posted by Lespaul , Oct. 23, 2009 9:21 am)
Roads are an after thought. That's why Stafford is the way it is. All the development off of old rural roads. But hey, we have another WalMart and someone found money to put in a new traffic light or 2 and some new turn lanes. I haven't looked it up, but I wonder who paid for those "improvements".

$4M proffers (posted by DeanFetterolf , Oct. 23, 2009 8:47 am)
The BOS voted on removing $4M in pre-negotiated proffers at the last second when they approved the Town Center. Now guess who will pay for the transportation impact - no one. Stafford and VDOT don't have the funds. Stafford only receives $3M for maintenace its 550 miles of roads

Hey Steve... I will vote (posted by USA2007 , Oct. 23, 2009 6:27 am)
for Milde. Aquia district is not just about you in the Harbour. The cleaning up of the Town Center is on of the best things that hav happened in the district and we should thank Mr Milde for his work to make that happen.
