Date published: 10/25/2009 Ralph Pool Retired Army Air Corps 1st Lt. Ralph "Bud" Pool, 86, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Wilburn Gardens. Survivors include his son, Donald and wife Linda; four grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and two sisters. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a 1948 graduate of Northeastern University. For the past seven years, Lt. Pool had dealt with the devastating effects of Guillain-Barre syndrome from a wheelchair. His strength and courage during this arduous time were heroic and those who knew him will never forget the example he set in perseverance. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to Fredericksburg Boy Scouts.
