Berta J. Strickland

Berta Josephine Strickland, 80, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Strickland was born June 11, 1929, in Switzerland.

She was the owner of a doughnut shop in Springfield for 30 years.

Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Strickland, as well as her parents.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis, Kenneth and Robert Strickland; a daughter, Linda Keller; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg Chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home with interment following in Stafford Memorial Park.
