Virginia C. Groves

Virginia Crossman Groves, 79, of Spotsylvania County died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Groves was the widow of Randolph H. Groves. She was proud to be a lifelong member of Christ Crossman United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Laurel Rebekah Lodge 44, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Falls Church Fire Department.

Survivors include two sons, Randolph Harrison Groves Jr. and his wife, Stephanie Catherine, and Stephen Grant Groves and his wife, Suzanne Conway; a daughter, Sharon Lane Haskell and her husband, James Lewis; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Clayton Dodge Groves and brother William Clark Crossman Jr.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Christ Crossman United Methodist Church, 384 N. Washington St., Falls Church, Va. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
