Donald Mullins
Donald Mullins, 62, of Stafford County passed away on Saturday Oct. 31, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 3, 1947, in Paynesville, W.Va., he later moved to Northern Virginia in 1965 where he met his beautiful and loving wife Carolyn, and then relocated to Stafford in 1977, raising his caring and devoted children, Lori and Greg.
He worked as a welder with the Tek-Am Corporation, where he retired after 40 years of devoted service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He volunteered for over 15 years at Quantico with the Natural Resource Department with his son Greg.
Mr. Mullins also was a member of the Quantico Rod and Gun Club. He coached soccer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carolyn; son Greg and his wife, Becky, of Louisa County; daughter Lori Newton and her husband, Peter, of Stafford; granddaughters Autumn Mullins and Cheyenne Smith; grandson Mason Newton; two sisters, Irene Christian and her husband, Hobert, of Natural Bridge, and Belle Mitchell and her husband, Dewey, of Beavercreek, Ohio, brother Chester Mullins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, where a funeral will be held at noon, with burial to follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
