A teenage girl who apparently died as part of a suicide pact with her boyfriend in Prince William County formerly lived in Stafford County and attended Stafford High School.
Desiree M. Patrick, 17, died along with her boyfriend, Quirinius S. Williams, 18, Monday, according to Prince William police.
Their bodies were found by her father at their residence in Triangle, police said.
Patrick and Williams died of gunshot wounds, police said, adding that the investigation revealed that both subjects agreed to commit suicide.
Brittany Sibley, 18, lived two doors away from Patrick in southern Stafford.
Committing suicide was out of character because Desiree was "so happy and outgoing," Sibley said. Desiree had spent a year in the marching band at Stafford High before she moved to Forest Park High School in Prince William with her father, Sibley said.
They stayed in touch almost daily, Sibley said, by "cell phone, e-mail, texting any way we could," Sibley said.
Sibley said groups of friends of Patrick's from Stafford were gathering last night to remember her and were planning a vigil in her honor.
Patrick's parents were Bobby Patrick Jr. and Pamela Patrick. She had two brothers, Thomas and Cody; and a sister, Chasity.
