Morning crash stalls traffic in Stafford
Traffic on Courthouse Road near Brooke Point High School in Stafford County was affected for nearly an hour yesterday after a two-vehicle crash sent three adults and a child to the hospital.
The crash occurred a half-mile east of the high school, shortly before the start of classes at 7:28 a.m.
A westbound 2001 Ford Expedition crossed the center line of Courthouse Road, striking an eastbound 2007 Toyota minivan, according to Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. F.L. Tyler.
The driver of the Expedition, Heather M. Myers, 38, was flown by helicopter to Mary Washington Hospital. Her 7-year-old son, riding in a child restraint in the backseat, was taken to Mary Washington by ambulance with minor injuries.
Myers was not wearing a seatbelt, Tyler said.
The two occupants in the minivan, driver Cunil Kumar Daftuar, 58, and son Saket Kumar Daftuar, 31, were transported to Mary Washington by ambulance with minor injuries.
Myers has been charged with reckless driving.
Trooper M.A. Oliver investigated the crash.

its good to hear the 7 year old was restrained...too many people disobey the law with kids under 8 years old. maybe she shouldve wore her seatbelt as well, do a favor to your kids and keep yourself safe as well as them. you're no good to them dead
