'Just say no' to re-electing Rep. Wittman

'Just say no' to re-electing Rep. Wittman

It's too bad the Republican congressional representative from the 1st District seemed to be more interested in "just saying no" than in doing what's best for his constituents' health care options.

Perhaps voters will return the favor and "just say no" if Rep. Wittman runs for re-election.

One Republican had the courage to vote for the House bill. It's a shame it couldn't have been the congressional representative from the 1st District.

Why on earth would I vote against Rob Wittman? (posted by brandonj , Nov. 23, 2009 5:24 pm)
So that I could vote in some democrat who promises change? Yeah I did that last year-it won't be happening again! If Mr. Obama and his Dem majority Congress can't deliver on the change that he and they promised (or at least SOME positive change that actually HELPS the country and the average person), then the only further change I'm going for is to vote R's or I's in! Mr. Wittman was absolutely right to vote against this bill-the whole thing is surrounded by corruption and questionable motives.

How are people supposed to read the bill front to back? It's 2,000 PAGES LONG! Unless you don't work and have no life, you'd never have time to read it completely. But the length of it, combined with the parts we do know about say plenty. The devil is hidden in the details and this bill is not going to be the kind of change we need. This is being pushed through before our Representatives can even read it. Gee, I wonder why there in such a rush...

If they keep passing special laws to applly to specific groups of people (posted by Mandrake , Nov. 23, 2009 2:06 pm)
prettty soon the only unprotected group will be straight white males. No special protection like for women, children, gays, racial groups etc. Wake up folks..we are all the same and the law is supposed to be impartial. Just go to the Supreme Court building and look at the statue of miss justice...she is wearing a blindfold....GET IT???????

public health (posted by chris_kilmartin , Nov. 23, 2009 9:10 am)
Rep. Wittman has a Ph.D. in Public Health but apparently has little interest in public health. He also voted against full funding for the Violence Against Women Act, a public health issue if ever there was one.

There are some people who will never understand (posted by Mandrake , Nov. 23, 2009 8:49 am)
because they are lacking sufficient IQ but rely solely on EQ. Let me shout it out for the EQ crowd. " WE DON"T WANT THE GOVERMENT INVOLVED IN ANY WAY IN OUR HEALTHCARE", except they can give us back our tax money we paid them so we can buy our own dam* insurance and make our own decisions. Dear Government: Suits and Skirts: Stay out of our underwear!
