Spotsy Scout earns Eagle honors Date published: 1/9/2011
Zachary Dally, a member of Boy Scout Troop 14 in Spotsylvania County, was honored last month with a ceremony for his Eagle Scout award. Troop 14 meets at Wilderness Community Church in Spotsylvania County. The award is the highest in the Boy Scouts. Dally is the son of Tim and Renee Dally of Fredericksburg. He is a 2010 graduate of Riverbend High School. For his Eagle Scout project, Dally marked property lines to support the local Izaak Walton League, located off Herndon Road in Spotsylvania County. With Troop 14, Dally has held a variety of leadership positions, from senior patrol leader to troop guide. He is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow, Yustage Lodge. He also has earned the 50-miler award twice, and he accumulated more than 125 days and/or nights of camping. --From staff reports
