Stafford campaign signs run into Hollywood demands.
BY JONAS BEALS
According to Hollywood, Stafford County is no place for law and order.
Or at least not "Law & Order."
In the past week, campaign signs have popped up around Stafford County that promote Sheriff Charles Jett and Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Eric Olsen, both Republicans running for office.
The campaign signs prominently feature the logo for the NBC television show "Law & Order."
They might have to come down.
"This matter was brought to our attention," a spokesman for Universal Media Studios said yesterday. "We have contacted the campaign and asked them to stop using the logo."
Jett is running for another term as sheriff in the Nov. 8 general election, and Olsen is running to replace his retiring mentor, Daniel Chichester. Olsen faces a GOP primary election on Tuesday.
Efforts by phone and email to reach Jett and Olsen for comment were unsuccessful yesterday.
