Clarence "Skip" Myers, 68, of Ruther Glen, formerly of Avis, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

He was chairman of the deacon board at Ladysmith Baptist Church and loved God, his family and his country.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Myers; two children, Matthew Myers and his wife, Lisa, of Frederick, Md., and Wendy Myers of Lake Anna; a sister, Lu Ann Pinella, and her husband, Mike, of Wisconsin; a brother, Larry Myers, and his wife, Kim, of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren, Zachary, Jed, Malachi, Caleb and Nathan.

A service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Ladysmith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jamie Eades officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annsville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Box 920, Bowling Green, Va. 22427.
