Barbara Y. Davis, 70, of Sparta died Sunday July 15, 2012, at her home.

Born in Caroline County, she was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher at Salem Baptist Church, Sparta. She had a career with Bank of America in Fredericksburg and, after her retirement, she did consulting work for Virginia Heartland Bank in Caroline.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Davis; four daughters, Sharon Wilkerson and her husband, Keith, of Chester, Angie Marshall and her husband, Steven, of Chesterfield, Valorie Cartwright and her husband, Walter, of North Carolina and Shirley Grote and her husband, Andy, of Texas; her sister, Annette McDonald, and her husband, Paul, of Bowling Green; her sister-in-law, Cathy Chenault of Ruther Glen; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lucille Chenault, and her brother, Lloyd Edwin Chenault.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Salem Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
