Westmoreland arrests wanted Arizona man
A man wanted on sex-crime charges in Arizona has been arrested in Westmoreland County.
Deputy Donald Jones Jr. received a tip that the suspect was in the Oak Grove area. He found the man on Azure Drive in the Placid Bay subdivision and arrested him without incident, Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson said.
Andrew K. Hayes, 20, is charged with four counts of sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of sexual abuse against a child.
The charges were filed in the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa, Ariz. The crimes are alleged to have occurred between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2011, Balderson said.
Hayes is being held in the Northern Neck Regional Jail pending extradition.
