A Stafford County family of four is displaced after a fire burned their home Wednesday night.
According to Mark Doyle of the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department, units responded to a reported structure fire at 9:28 p.m. in the 100 block of Hyde Park in Sunnydale Meadows.
The first unit arrived on the scene within six minutes, Doyle said, and they reported a fire in the basement that was extending to the first floor of the town home.
Doyle said firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
Three adults, one infant and one pet were displaced because of the fire, Doyle said. He added that the American Red Cross assisted with sheltering.
Doyle said one female was transported for an injury unrelated to the fire. There were no other reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damage was estimated at about $55,000, Doyle said.
Fire and rescue units from North Stafford, Aquia, Stafford, Mountain View, Falmouth, Rockhill and Quantico responded to the scene.
