Philip Vanfossen Oby III, 61, of Colonial Beach passed back to God on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at his residence.
Philip was born May 14, 1951, and was a native of New York. In his retirement, Philip and his wife, Wendy, created Wendy's Feline Friends, a nonprofit cat rescue organization.
Philip is survived by his wife, Wendy Erskine; daughters Tess and Jess Oby; his father, Philip Oby Jr.; a sister, Anne Elizabeth Burtle; a brother, Steven Oby; and many loving friends.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Philip's memory with a donation to Wendy's Feline Friends, 1228 Holly Vista Drive, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; or Hospice of Virginia, 1328 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, Va. 22560.
