The media is making a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to Bain Capital. Large- and medium-size companies have been outsourcing jobs for decades.
One of the innovators of this practice, General Electric, closed its television plant in the early '70s in Portsmouth and moved the jobs to Mexico and Asia.
Today executives continue to follow this practice because their shareholders insist on every penny of profit possible.
However, Gov. McDonnell is wrong when he says Bain Capital does not matter. It matters because someone is having a hard time telling the truth about the relationship with this company and I would not think it would be the SEC.
A candidate for our highest office must be candid with the American people about his financial entanglements, and lately it seems every time Romney opens his mouth his nose gets longer.
