Nannie Kate Saunders of Tappahannock departed this life Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Blagmon of Upper Marlboro, Md.; two stepdaughters, Ruth Jackson of Tappahannock and Diane Diggs of New York; two stepsons, Charles Robb of New York and Bernard Hedgemon of Caret; one sister, Clara Tunstall of Tappahannock; and one brother, Randolph Perry Gaines of Burgess.

The viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock, and one hour prior to the service at the church. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at First Baptist Church, Tappahannock, with the Rev. Vernon Keeve, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Marion Tapscott as eulogist. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
