Hot air balloonist Bubba Winston (above) of Ashland waves to onlookers as his balloon rises into the air at the annual Flying Circus Hot Air Balloon Festival in Bealeton on Sunday, the final day of the two-day event.

Winston and other balloonists were on hand to give visitors rides high above Fauquier County.

The rides were given early in the morning and late in the afternoon to ensure the safest flying conditions.

Riders were treated to a bird's-eye view of the beautiful Fauquier countryside.
