Sharon Brand Zwicker, 54, of King George County passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, in King George.
She had retired as a deputy sheriff for King George in 2009, after 28 years of service, and was later rehired as a part-time deputy. She formerly had been with the Colonial Beach Police Department for four years. She was the first female deputy for both King George and Colonial Beach. She was a member of the Sheriffs' Association and Westmoreland Independent Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Donald C. and Jean A. Brand.
She is survived by her husband, Morgan Zwicker; two children, Morgan Zwicker Jr. and Chauncey Zwicker, both of King George; four sisters, Glenda Gutridge, Jeannie LiCalzi, Pamela Ambrose Hale and Donna Bourne; two brothers, Donald C. Brand Jr. and Robert L. Brand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in King George. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the church, with Pastor Robert Warnick officiating. Burial will follow in Historyland Memorial Park, King George, with Sheriff's Office honors.
