Susie McAdams Galarneau, 55, the beloved wife of Joel Galarneau, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Susie was born on Jan. 21, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1960, Susie and her family moved to Arlington. She attended schools in Arlington and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1975.

Several years later, Susie and Joel moved to Colonial Beach. Susie became a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Colonial Beach. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed the beach.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jeanne McAdams.

She is survived by her husband, Joel; her mother-in-law, Mary Galarneau; several sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will miss Susie greatly and will cherish their memories of her.

A celebration of Susie's life will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 517 Colonial Ave., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
