A 15-year-old Culpeper County boy is accused of shooting at a vehicle occupied by men who were later charged with assaulting a 17-year-old at the boy's residence.
According to Corey Byers of the Culpeper County sheriff's office, the three men--Jonathan W. Welch, 21, of Rixeyville, Christopher R. Marsh, 28, of Culpeper, and John R. Randall, 21, of White Post--showed up at a Monumental Mills residence late Saturday afternoon.
As they left, the 15-year-old fired one shot from a .22-caliber rifle, Byers said. The shot hit the vehicle but not any of those inside.
The boy was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and attempting to commit murder and was transported to Blue Ridge Detention Center.
Welch was charged with malicious wounding by a mob, two counts of destruction of property and trespassing.
Marsh and Randall were each charged with one count of malicious wounding by a mob, destruction of property and trespassing.
Fincham was charged with one count of trespassing.
Welch, Marsh and Randall are being held in the Culpeper County Jail on no bond. Fincham was released on a $2,500 secured bond.
