Ruby Virginia Morley, 70, of Fredericksburg departed this life on Monday, Sept. 3, at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Welch, W.Va., on Dec. 15, 1941, to the late Harry Dave Fizer and Muriel Irene Walker Fizer.
Ruby attended high school in Tazewell. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. Sheraised and nurtured not only her three children, but many of the neighborhood children who frequented her house in Waverly Village.
She was an avid Redskins fan as was obvious when you entered her home by the various memorabilia displayed. Everyone knew when they played because you could hear her a mile away. She will always be remembered by her infectious laugh and warm and loving heart.
Ruby is survived by her husband, John Morley; daughters Sandy Elliott and her fiance, Scott Barber, and Cathy Childers and daughter-in-law Nicky Beach, all of Fredericksburg. Other survivors are her sisters, Claudia Woodall of Viewtown, Mabel McGlothlin and her husband, Norm of Fayetteville, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Justin and Jacob Elliott, McKenzie and Austin Childers, Benjamin, Luke and Bradford Morley; and her best friend, Janet Ezzell, whom she thought of as a sister. Additionally, she is survived by her brothers-in-law, Mike Morley and his wife, Audrey and George Morley and his wife, Debbie and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her son, John Morley II; twin sister Muriel Irene Fizer and sister Jeannette "Nannie" Fauver.
Ruby's family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. with a celebration of life service at 11 a.m., at the funeral chapel.
