Darrell Wayne Cook

Darrell Wayne Cook, 27, of Winchester passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.

Darrell was born June 12, 1985, in Richmond to James Nelson Cook Sr. and Lynne Marie Spinney Cook.

He loved his family, friends and sports. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was known for his contagious sense of humor and the ability to make everybody laugh.

He is survived by his mother, Lynne Marie Cook-Zerbe; and his siblings, Katie Marie Cook, James Nelson Cook Jr. and Kenneth Ray Cook, all formerly of Stafford County. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Camilla M. Spinney and Charles E. Davis of Winchester, as well as George A. Spinney Sr. of Naples, Fla. He leaves his paternal grandparents, Maphis Cook of Florida and Janice Cook of Locust Grove. In addition to immediate family, Darrell leaves behind his loving partner, Tasha Harman of Winchester; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a nephew; a niece; and an uncountable number of friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, James Nelson Cook Sr.

A funeral will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home in Spotsylvania at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
