Living Word Lutheran Church, 2601 Wheatland Woods Drive, will hold homecoming on Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. Living Word is a member congregation of the North American Lutheran Church. It will celebrate acceptance into the NALC with a picnic to be held after the service. Donations are being accepted for the second annual Christmas Even Outreach Event for the area's homeless children, to be held at Golden Skateworld. 540/840-6591.

Eastland United Methodist Church, 10718 Courthouse Road, is now offering an early service every Sunday at 8:45 a.m., by Pastor Craig Muffley.

Zion Hill Baptist Church, 10411 Cooktown Road, will hold Community Day on Sept. 15, noon to 6 p.m., featuring food, fun, prizes and activities for all ages.

Rhema Christian Ministry, 8503 Indian Hills Court, No. 402, will hold fall revival services Sept. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m., with Sister Felisha Battle as nightly worship leader. Little Mine Road Baptist Church, 7225 Lanes Corner Road, will observe Women's Day on Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Patricia Ellis from Mount Olive Baptist Church in Glen Allen. "Women of God--Rejoice!" is the theme for the service, with a light lunch served afterward.
