The University of Mary Washington will hold its 19th annual Leadership Colloquium for Professional Women on Nov. 8 at its Stafford County campus.

Viola Osborne Baskerville, interim chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia Council, will be the keynote speaker. Her talk is titled "Power Pumps: Leading With Your Strengths."

The daylong event will kick off at 8 a.m., and its theme will be "leading from where you are." It will include seminars on various topics, including business etiquette, leadership skills and personal branding.

In addition to Baskerville, speakers will include Anne Little, the founder and president of AGL Marketing and Tree Fredericksburg; Donna Tyson, a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker and author; and Rosemary T. Burke, director of the Health and Wellness Department for Mary Washington Healthcare.

The Patricia Lacey Metzger Distinguished Achievement Award will be presented following lunch. It's given in memory of a UMW professor and Colloquium founder, and recognizes individuals who uphold high standards in their personal and professional lives while fulfilling a career goal of significant stature.

The registration fee for the event is $109 for early registrants and $129 after Oct. 1. It includes breakfast, a buffet luncheon, afternoon tea and all sessions, forums and materials. For more information or to register, visit umw.edu/lcpw.
